And welcome to our news schedule! On the 3-rd of September Spitfire will perform at SKK (sport arena) on the closure of the mini soccer championship.
Our drummer Denis or Dj D.Ska-Messer will spin his records on the big event at Manezh (Kadteskii korpus) supporting Asian Dub Foundation (UK) on the 17-th of September.
Ska Jazz have their record release party at 16 Tons club in Moscow on the 23rd of September, the same party will be in St.Petersburg at the Platforma club (Nekrasova 40) on the 29-th.
Spitfire start their european tour with the gig at Red club on the September 30-th. Show begins at 20.00.
Reminder: DJs Avtagen, Brutal & Zausenec have their "Alko Metal Party" every thursday at the "2-oi Etazh Club" (Dumskaja 9). You can easily recognize Spitfire members at the turntables... :-) See you there!

we are awfully sorry about the 25-th, but it's been cancelled with no paricular reason. Anyway the Sunshine festival gonna take a place on the 7-th of July in Fontanka Youth Theater (Molodezhny Teatr). We are going to perform there a.k.a. Ska-Jazz review along with other great acts such as: 5-Nizza, Markscheder Kunst, King Shilon Sound System, La Minor, Messer Chups, D. Ska-Messer e.t.c.

Hello everybody!

We are back from our vacations, everyone is healthy, energitic and smiley! It's good to be back in a very fresh conditions. Hope you guys have had a great summer too.

We're back to work with the gig at "Nashestvie" festival in Tver a.k.a Leningrad. Then our German tour starts on the 1-st of September. After that we're looking forward for the new ska-jazz album release.

On 29-th of August see Spitfire in Depo Club in Riga, Latvia, where we also be as Leningrad at movie festival.

On the 10-th of october we'll do a show in Moscow in Apelsin club together with Naiv! And then Naiv will play with us on the 23-d of october in Red club in st.Petersburg.

For st.Petersburg Hepcats and everyone: Dj D.Ska-Messer plays every tuesday at Griboedov - ska, reggae, dub, rocksteady, ragga. And every saturday at Dacha club all kinds of stuff like soul, funk, swinging 60's, punk, garage, rock e.t.c.

In april we're going to Finland to play a Sue magazine 10-th anniversary tour (follow our live dates) In the begining of May we'll be performing in St.Petersburg and Moscow, 7-th of May big gig with Leningrad at Ubileinii DS, also planning the tour in Sweden, and going on tour with Ska-Jazz review in Europe at the end of may-june.

Dear friends!
On the November 2nd, 2001 in Gaswerk club (Winterthur, Switzerland) an accident has happened to our band's trombone player Mikhail Gapak. At the moment he is at neuropathology department of Zurich University hospital (Switzerland). He is diagnosed to have broken the spine and the lower part of his body is totally paralysed. Russian insurance company "Spasskiye Vorota" has refused to take the responsibility for this accident. Consequently, our band is supposed to pay all expenses for Mikhail's medical treatment. Currently, the total amount of money to be paid makes more than 100,000 SFr (~60,000 USD). We are planning to play some benefit concerts around Europe, but unfortunately, the expected net fee for these gigs does not cover the required sum completely. In Finland; Respect to DJ Patrik and photog and greenthumb Jukka. Was a pleasure to meet rmr's Scandal Bag and Olli at a club in Helsinki where Cedric Brooks seized an invitation to jam with a Senegalese band.
'Nuff respect to Dmitry Tourov and his mother Alice, who demonstrated serious hospitality by hosting a jam session featuring Cedric Brooks, Greg Glassman and Mike Ellis, among others, at the family's apartment until dawn on 5/29. Thanks and respect to Mike Ellis, who sat in with Skatalites on soprano sax on May 31 at Restavracia in Moscow, and wailed at jam sessions at Club Ogee and Chinese Pilot on the 29th and 30th, respectively. Mike is currently touring somewhere "farther east" of Moscow. Nazdarovia to Svetlana of Club Ogee. Thanks to Linda and Misha of Restavracia. Was a pleasure to meet Mpendulo Kumalo and Anesh Maistry of the South African Embassy that night at Moscow's top Jazz venue. Tesfaye Birhanu of the BB King club came through when there was a power outage and earned Skatalites gratitude for the excellent eats and introduction to the Ethiopian community of Moscow.
This is a partial list of everyone whom Skatalites and I wish to thank for making sure everything was everything. Now that the "best Ska band ever", as the posters read, has debuted in Russia, Skatalites fully expect Russian Ska Fever to become an epidemic! It seems Don Drummond saw this coming when he titled that tune....

On 19th of May we'll be playing in the Faculty club (Dobrolubova av. 6, Gorkovskaya metro station, studend crowd & nice atmosphere). Than we'll do a little "club tour" in Helsinki (Finland) for a big Maailma Kysala festival, the last gig will take a place on the big stage one day with the Skatalites.

And then!!!

27-th of May Spitfire, Marksheider Kunst and the Legendary Skatalites from Jamaica will perform at DK Lensoveta in Saint-Petersburg.
Ska legends are coming to Russia! Don't even try to miss it !!!

On the beginning of June we're going to a big festival in Latvia - Forte Riga Festival.

Our next gig will be in the Polygon club (Saint-Petersburg) with the good authentic sound. The support act is a nice band from SPb - "1.5 кг. Отличного Пюре" (skate-punk). After that we'll go to Finland for a little tour.
